| Precipitation developed across western North Carolina early on the 27th in association with an upper level disturbance. Temperatures above roughly 3500 feet were cold enough for much of this precipitation to fall as snow. By the time the snow tapered off to light snow showers and flurries late in the evening, accumulations of 2 to 4 inches were common in the high elevations, with some locally higher totals. | |||
