In the midst of a late season cold air damming event, multiple waves of low pressure developed and tracked northeast along a stalled front just off the southeast coast. While some locations across the northwest Piedmont saw a dusting of snow, freezing rain was the main precipitation type. Freezing rain amounts averaged around a tenth of an inch, with an isolated quarter of an inch reported in Randolph County. | |||
