Sleet, Freezing Rain, Rain Started: December 14, 2013 at 2 am EST Ended: December 14, 2013 at 1 pm EST
Light freezing rain, mixed at times with sleet, developed along the Blue Ridge during the early morning hours. Temperatures gradually warmed above freezing through the morning, with precipitation changing to rain later in the morning. Light ice accretion occurred within a few miles of the Blue Ridge, mainly on elevated surfaces. However, a couple of slick spots were reported on roads across southern Avery County.
