A warm front lifting northward produced some patchy light freezing rain across portions of the northwest Mountains and north-central Piedmont during the early morning hours as the precipitation advanced from west to east across northern North Carolina. Little if any ice accrual was reported outside of a narrow swath in Alleghany County.
